People keep getting harassing phone calls and text messages and mail across Canada from this supposed company who claims they are a Collections agency. Blocking them will not stop them as they always seem to have extension numbers. This will keep going on and on so my advice to all of you Canadians is to call your phone companies and police have them block and make a report on these people. They will contact you saying that you owe them money in which you don't. 

We would like the Government to step in now and STOP these auto-dialer lists companies and be free of the telemarketers, debt collectors, or any other callers who use auto-dialers to annoy you.

Weird call from CBV Collections on an outstanding debt from over a decade ago. First time I've heard about it.

Hey PFC. I got a call from what is apparently CBV Collections (found this out after googling) on a minor debt of mine from 2007. It was an account with Rogers Cable, which put me off initially as I had completely forgotten about this fuck-up of mine from when I was 20. I check my credit report consistently and this Rogers Cable account had not shown up in years.

Does it seem likely that Rogers just sat on this debt (around $230) for ten years and just now, according to CBV, sent it off to collections? Either way, the correct course of action is to settle it with CBV before they have a chance to report it to the credit bureaus, correct?

Alleged Violations against CBV Collections, Inc

According to PACER,On April 2, 2014, CBV Collections, Inc. mailed a collection letter to a Georgia resident. This letter stated in part, “IF THIS ACCOUNT IS NOT PAID IN FULL WITHIN 30 DAYS, THIS COLLECTION WILL BECOME A PERMANENT PART OF YOUR CREDIT FILE FOR 6 YEARS 11 MONTHS.”

The resident felt that demanding payment within 30 days overshadowed her dispute rights. Feeling harassed by CBV Collections, Inc., she hired a consumer attorney and sued the agency for allegedly violating the FDCPA by using false, deceptive, and misleading means to collect a debt.

The matter was later dismissed.

Speaking to anyone from CBV Collections in Canada is a sure way to have your credit and private information compromised forever.  They will use any and all information you give them to further sink your credit profile.  They employ convicted criminals who have easy access to any personal information they have so it's important that you never add any, even if you truly do owe someone money to protect yourself from CBV Collections Identity Theft and Fraudulent debt collections.

If you hear the words "calling from CBV Collections" it is important that you hang up the phone immediately, without confirming your identity.  It is important that you contact your telephone provider and have any and all of their numbers blocked from being able to call you again.  Because they will, over and over, with hopes of suckering you into debts that are not yours.

If you do have unpaid debts, it is important that you contact and ONLY negotiate with your original creditor.  If they've already sent your file to CBV you need to tell them you will not negotiate anything with CBV and if they want the account paid they will need to remove your file and all information from CBV.

Until the government of Canada steps in and starts arresting and jailing the management and staff at CBV, Canadians are all in extreme danger of Identity Theft and fraudulent debt collections.

If you are an employee of CBV Collections, you need to start looking for honest work and let your management go down with their ship.  Do not be fooled by the hyperbole that is given to you at hiring and do  not allow your managers to compromise your integrity.  Because they do, they will, and couldn't operate otherwise.  Do the right thing, quit before you become fully trained in the ways of Identity Theft and Fraud.
